Congrats!
I'd say hang on to it in a common bank account for the moment when that business sense that got you the first venture suggests yet another one. You did something right once, you might just find another.
That entrepeneural sense might just be all you need if given enough time. This time, you already have a thousand in seed money you don't have to beg and borrow for. Cudos to you!
Added:
Where to learn? The easy sources are common business news: Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Forbes, Fortune, etc. (leave Cramer and his mad money thing alone, but despite the attrocious name, Motley Fool has some really good stuff). It is a tad bit technical, but you will get some good ideas of basic investing from an old book by Benjamin Graham (read the revised version where Warren Buffett does homage) or by John Bogle, one of the pioneers of sector investing and champion of mutual funds or exchange traded funds for directed diversification. The easy way, go back to authoritative news sources I first listed. As you read their accounts and descriptions, you might stop one day and say, "I want to be a part of that!" That is when you plunk down some cash from your savings and buy some shares (then merely watch it, think of it as a tree that needs time to grow, that is investing). |

Invest in a no-load low-cost global stock mutual fund or ETF. You can find one or more of these at morningstar.com. |

There are lots and lots of things you can do with it. I guess, though I am happy to be wrong, you have not looked into all the difficult kinds of investment opportunities available to you. Indeed there are some which you will not be able to take part in due to your age. But for the time being, in order to see your money grow in the future, the best thing is initially to take a no risk option which means opening a bank account that pays high interest or a bond of some kind (you will have to leave the money in the bond for a period of time before you get access to it again) and in the mean time, at least until you turn 18, further your eduction in what options are available to you. Or course, if you have some knowhow about business, you could alternatively start another little venture to see if you can make some profit and add to this 1k.
Ultimately there are lots of things you could do, more than we have time here to discuss. But in my experience the best thing for you would be to further your education which will only help you to make better decisions about what to do with your money in the future. Good luck in all. |

but it in a high-interest account and dont touch it till you've left school, you could use it to support further education. or you could invest in shares or bonds. |

The most you are going to make from any low risk investment is about £70 per year, taxed at source, so if this is money you don,t need right away, buy premium bonds with it, you have to be 16, but your parents can buy them for you, and you can get your money back in about ten days.
£1000 invested in bonds for one year gives you 12000 chances of winning a prize from £50 to £1m(2 per month) at virtually no cost, all you lose is the interest as above plus a little bit for inflation, say £100 per year total, equals about one penny per chance, and you get your money back. |

put it in to a safe, conservative company that is undervalued, and pays a high dividend,
.As an example take bank of ireland shares they have halved in the last 12 months, they pay a high dividend and will start to come back up eventually.
this is only an example |

let me give you my bank account details! lol, only joking
the best thing for you to do is look into opening a high interest bank account.
it will mean that if you want to access the money you might have to wait a month to get it but you will get a higher interest rate. |
