I suggest Ciruit City and Best Buy if you're looking for some safe and under-priced stocks right now

With the way things are now days, I'd say, stick it in a coffee can and bury it in your back yard. It's probably safer there.

I could use it, so you could invest it in me lol. Well I would invest it in gold or something like that, since it is still rising in price. If you put it in the stock market now, with the way it is, you may never see it again.

The stock market is still the best place to invest.

Right now, honestly probably just a CD (NO not music, a certificate of deposit!)

Smile for a While.
Save it for a retirement fund.

Depends completely on what you would like that money to do for you.
If you want it relatively secure, but grow. go with a mutual fund.
If you want it completely protected, go with a FDIC insured bank CD. Should be able to get 4% interest.
If you want a chance at a huge profit, but accept the risk, then roll the dice and buy into the financial sector. I would keep to the top 5 banks. The Treasury will probably only offer a bailout to the big boys with a ton of assets.

Get a CD (Certificate of Deposit). It gives you compound interest.....meaning: interest on interest on interest on interest....u get the idea...!

Well, I have been wanting to take a course to upgrade my education, it will cost only half of that amount. I suppose, you could invest in me, I would pay you back prime lending rate plus when I graduate (the course is self-learn on the computer, in TESOL and guaranteed to have a job placement upon completion of the course). The course can take as little or as long (up to a year) to complete. I am a fast learner, so it could be done relatively fast. Plus I homeschool my son, so it would be no problem for me to work often at it.

Thanks for your consideration. Oh, and the other half of the money... I honestly couldn't think of a great investment for you, unless you have passions that you like to help, and this is money that you are happy watching other people utilize (INVEST as in, you get a return on your money at a later date OR INVEST as in, you get to watch your money "do good" and your only return is the satisfaction that it brings, not a monetary profit.)

I would find a safe FDIC insured savings account, or government treasuries. Stocks are looking horrible, gold is about to crash next, sometimes a plain old savings account is the best place to put it. You don't even have to lose sleep over it!

Not a good time to try to invest in anything. Best place for your money is in a savings account where it can earn interest.

Hang on to it. If Obama gets elected all of your money will be taxed at huge rates and given away to who HE thinks should have it.
