The market is always risky... if you are just doing this for a short time you may not know what to invest in.... Going off what others tell you in the market isn't a good idea... if you're not going to be investing long... and its only 500 dollars just put in in a paypal account.. with intrest... it will be easily available when you need it... and the intrest rate is far better most bank savings accounts.... hope that helps you.... if you go market make sure you really know the stock very well that you are investing in... spend a lot of time on it yourself.. ask other people why they like a stock and find out for yourself if its true....

Remember the more return you are promised the more likely you will get nothing.

High return means risk and many do loose all their money.

500 dollars is not enough to do anything with. Can't even buy one block of stock that is any good.

Put it in the savings bank and help it grow by adding to it each month. When you have enough you should have learned some about money by then.

On average safe investments will double every seven years. Start when twenty and at sixty five you will have something to brag about. I did it that way and sure don't have to worry abut money now. I only need abut half of my income each month.

Before you consider investing any dollar amount, do some homework first. Learn all you can about brokers and fees etc. You may want to consider a business opportunity that requires a small outlay of cash with a high return. Also, are you anticipating investing this $500 one time, or will it be $500 a month? You need to establish long term goals as well as short term. I think you will come out ahead should you consider investing this amount monthly into something that offers a high return with little risk.
