There is no problem about selling in BSE provided the stock is listed there. If not then how can you ? It is of course presumed that your trading account is validly mapped both for BSE and NSE and that your broker deals with both the exchanges. |

You can sell you shares at BSE, bought from NSE and vice versa provided the stock is listed at both the exhanges & your broker is registered to both the exchanges as well. You don't need to pay any extra Brokerage for that. |

No, this is not possible, bcoz NSE & BSE are different Stock Exchanges, and are more like companies & competitors. Also their is a volatile price variation in both exchanges. |

Yes, you can sell the shares in BSE. But the stock must be listed in it and also your broking agent should be registered in both exchanges. Your stock broker will give you a better option when to sell across exchanges as the rates differ between the two. |

yah you can sell it, but the charges levied will be so high that they will not only eatup your gains but also most probably will eat-up from your capital as well. I faced the similar problem once, and i enquired from my brokerage firm about it. They replied that it is technically possible, but practically , no one goes for it, as the charges are so high, it almost equal to just throw your shares in a dustbin. |

100% yes you can if the stock is listed on both exchanges provided it has been credited to your demat account. In short if you are an investor and you are the defacto owner of the shares you may sell shares which you have purchased at NSE at some point of time in the BSE or vice versa, again it has to be in your demat account. It is assumed that you have a broker is registered with both the exchanges. By the way he can also be a sub broker in ( BSE or NSE) the exchanges to facilitate the trade also(rarely used these days).
Genreally there is a scrip code in BSE and NSE goes with Short Names and normally your trade accounts will be linked by the broker to the exchanges in such a way where you can input if the trade in done online or where the trade is done in front of a desk at the broker at the end of the day the front office will put the details in a slip and process it.
However if your question relates to arbitrage that is simultaneously buying in one exchange while shorting in another exchange without the ownership it is practically imposible. Since the settlement on one exchange is t+2 days it may sometimes take 3 days or more for the shares to come into your demat account and some brokers like ICICI dont permit to sell till 3 days are completed where as others brokers they do sometimes make allocation from their pool account and they mayl allow to sell next day , it depends and It is very dangerous.
Where as the settlement of shares that is the sold part has to be done on that same day or t-2 days. Otherwise an auction will be initated and my friend in a bull market you dont want to be caught being short and in an auction situation where you would have to bear huge losses as settlement is done at almost sky high prices.
So in short an investor who holds for long period can sell in any exchange where it is listed irrespective of where he purchased it provided it is listed and your broker is registered with both NSE and BSE exchanges.
For arbitrage hunters many brokers will not allow selling until expiry of 3 trading days from date of purchase.
How ever you may resort to arbitrage in a different way
You can sell in one exchange of shares you already purchased and which is in your name and if the spreads are large enough to give you a profit and if the volumes of the shares allow it you may purchase it in a different exchange to pocket the spread.
Make sure you cover borkerage and get some profit without driving the prices too high since such spreads are normally found in thinly traded or low volume scrips. |
