Depending on your age maybe an IRA. Unless your tolerance for risk is high avoid stocks. If you think you'll want use of your money in a few years a money market savings or check th rates on CD's.

With the current state of the economy I'd go for Premium bonds.

Property - Only an idiot would suggest this as prices are crashing

Shares - You need years of experience to predict the market

Banks - Being Nationalised every day as they're in so much trouble

Premium Bonds are 100% secure. You'll never lose your money and you just might get the 1 Million pound win.

I put £15,00 in last year and so far I've earned 11.3% gross interest from all the small £50 wins I've had. And it's not taxable.

All the best.

investment in current situation i suggest no, any one having liquid money is hero, as the economic condition starts improving then think at present be a hero with the zero investment

at the moment premium bonds, you can cash them in any time and they can make you money

VICKILOVE
definitely not property as said above the housing market is at its worst ever, you wont be able to sell it unless you plan to rent it out

steer clear of premium bonds too as you will most likely lose money on the investment in todays current market

your best bet is to bank it - it may not provide a lot of interest but it is the safest option.if it is over 50,000 use northern rock as they are backed by the government so it is guaranteed

hope this helps!

I think it depends on how much you have. If you have a large amount, I'd say buy property.

Barbie
You should buy a place.
Maybe a small apartment, you could always rent it & have some money in return.
When you don't want it anymore you sell it & maybe even you can get lucky & sell it for a greater value.
Good luck :)

I'd be careful with what you invest your money in just now given the state of the economy.

with the way the economy is a normal safe bank account with high interest. if this is not your answer stick it under the matress

The best investment possible would be something that makes way more than you put in it, due to the insanely high risk. I'm making a film with a really high budget currently. Something like that, in which you put up money knowing that you are going to lose it all. When a film hits big enough in the box office, the one huge hit is enough to cover the losses for all of the studio's pictures that year. I would stay away from the traditional advice of the stock market, as it has been volatile lately.
