I think that already happened. Things cost 10 times what they did many years ago, therefore whatever cost a penny then costs a dime (or more) today |

Theoretically at some point inflation will increase the price of the raw material in a penny to over 10 cents. However I doubt pennies will be circulating at that point.
Or it could be a reference to the power of compunding, that if you save a penny and invest it will you will eventually have a dime in the future.
If you have an investment returning 10%, in 24 years you will have 10 times as much money. |

It is already that way and in somethings worse.
Example,1960 penny bubble gum,now dime bubble gum.In fact there is no penny candy left.Nickel candy is almost history. |

Inflation will eventually eat away the value of a dime so that it is worth the same as a penny today, if that is what you mean.
If you mean that if you save pennies, they will someday be worth 10 cents, that is unlikely but possible.
Already there is almost one cent worth of zinc in a penny. If the price of zinc goes up by 10X, the penny would have 10 cents worth of zinc in it.
It is against the law to deface US coinage though, so you would not be able to legally take advantage of it. |

never heard of that ever |

Impossible. The most they can do is get rid of the pennies and make the dime the less valued coin (they would also have to get rid of cents for this). |

You probably heard something that the value of the copper in the penny, if it keeps increasing, will be worth a dime someday. It very well might be, but it's a long long time away. The copper right now is almost Worth a penny so copper will have to skyrocket to make it worth a dime. |
