I need to open an offshore bank account fast. can anyone recommend me one with lowest opening fees available?
I am in need of opening an offshore account where I can transfer my funds there because I am getting ready to retire. I need to know which bank is best to open an account with offshore and if its with a lower fee to open an individual account, where I'll be able to use electronic transfers, check card and so on between inland and offshore banks and that I can transfer all of my funds to it. If anyone knows this, please let me know. I appreciate your help! Jormar.

i think the better thing to be asking yourself is: how did you get into a situation where you need an off-shore bank account quickly...and how you can return to a time when you didnt need such a thing. =/

My natural curiousity but why do you need an offshore bank account fast, JUST becasue you are retiring?

All the major banks in UK have branches in the Channel Islands and there would be no fee for opening an a/c there. Interest rates will differ a little from one bank to another, but ou can move the a/c again afterwards.

But be warned, they all have to inform the tax authorities here. If you want anonymity, you need a Swiss a/c.

There is no such thing as offshore/inland check card transfer without fees/low fees. Typical fees vary from 3.5%-12%, these numbers are not published to keep banking rates competitive.

The new offshore accounts of choice of drug dealers, terrorists and identity theives are now from Guatemala - according to the police and FBI.

If you need an off shore account "fast" then the fees charged for opening an account seem to be the least of your problems.

Perhaps you should ask the IRS. Or the police.
