The markets may have bottomed--at least for the time being. The US market doesn't rise as fast as Chinese market for instance when world economies are expanding, but it doesn't fall as hard in recessionary times. The world's markets are linked. Some will outperform others, but they all move up and down more or less together.

No one knows for sure, remember that..NO ONE KNOWS. If you do want to invest, just know that there is a huge chance that you will lose money before you make any. If you are ok with that, at dont mind seeing your investment go down before it goes up, then by all means do it.

It all depends on what you know, your time frame and your understanding. If one is buying stocks it's possible and likely to lose money. A lose isn't a lose unless you sell at a lower price. If the price continues to drop from the initial entry point, more purchases will off set the overall lose or depreciation. What goes down will go up. The opposite is also true. An option trader can make profits no matter what the market does if they understand the technical indicators. I never buy into a stock that doesn't offer options.
