It is a troy ounce. Think of a big fingernail for this.
Bars (ingots) are usually 10 oz or more.
Personally I would buy silver before gold. You get more for your money (17 bucks an ounce) and most silver gets burned up for industrial uses, where gold does not.
Everyone is hot for gold right now, that should make you think twice before going after it. |
