Most of the good stocks are available at lowest rates, further fall is slightly remote. However, you can start buying in small quantities and hold them for atleast one year. You can trade online after opening a Demat and trading account with one of the stock brokers. Before that, understand their terms and conditions well and open an account with them. I suggest, you can visit, http://www.sharetips4u.info from where I learnt lot of basics when I was new to trading. |

The most important thing is that you must know what you are doing and that goes in any kind of business you are going into. Wherever you live, try to find a local brokeraging company in your area and have yourself trained. I recommend that you study about the trading rule and understand it in about one month continue with trading simulation (without money) for at least one year.
PS : Don't do any online tradings before you understand throughly the trading systems and strategies.
Too long? If you don't want to spend that long or you have other things to do, hire a broker. Within the time I recommend, hopefully you can observe the characters of the market that you are going into (be specific in choosing a market. Don't jump into markets randomly), technical trading systems, etc.
But, I agree with what first answerer said. It's a dangerous time to start investing in stock or currency markets now but it's the best time to start an observation. |

Before you invest your hard earned money in stock market, without the basic knowledge, I would advise to invest through mutual funds in the beginning. Also start exploring the market and learn about the stock market. You will have to get a Broker and an account to trade in market. Broker will provide with all the necessary knowledge and help you in doing the trade. For this service, he will charge a small margin.
Also, this is not the best time to invest any where globally. so go for mutual funds.
Few tips:-
Always have a long term view for stock and hold for substantial time,
Never indulge in day trading, or short term speculation on market rumors,
invest in companies with good track record, and have been there are a long time.
Never invest all your money in single stock, always divide it into multiple sectors.
Avoid greed while investing and never do panic selling. |

I like to recommend DRIP Plans.
They are seldom recommended by brokers due to the low rate of commissions received. However, these
reinvestment plans can be very powerful long-term investments. Studies have shown that DRIP's are one of
the best strategies on Wall Street.
They are inexpensive and easy to start. New investors to the stock market should definitely consider a DRIP Plan.
Companies like Toyota, Royal Canadian Bank, Sony, Bank of America, General Electric and many other Blue Chip
Stocks can be purchased through your DRIP Plan, with as little as 1 share in most cases.
These long-term plans are great for beginners as well as veterans. Check them out.
Best of Luck |
