I would like to make >7% on approximately $7000 over the next 6 months. Any advice on how to invest this?

Da Man, it's not a problem.

Open a high yield account in a bank in Europe. You will get a 12% APR with NO RISK. All deposits are insured by the government.

I have opened such a high yield account 5 years ago.
Good luck!

nothing that won't carry risk of loss

Put it into a stock called HTE and you should make a little over 7.5% over the next 6 months.

You could also buy SFI and make 12% over the next 6 months.

7% over 6 months will be very difficult especially in this market.

I wouldn't take the advice of anyone on yahoo answers about specific securities as they may have a vested interest in them.

Bottom line it is possible to make 7%, but you are going to have to be willing to take a chance at a significant loss. Go with high risk stocks to acheive you goal.

I would put it into a energy mutual fund for 6 months. It is usually hard to make this type of interest rate over this short of a time period.

not a good time to be investing right now. We are in a recession.

Stu G
Very tough, how much of a risk do you want to take?
If you don't mind a risk there are junk bonds.
There are some stocks that have dividends higher than 7% but the price of the stock might be down in 6 months, do you want to risk it?
Finally you can loan some one the money for 6 months but make sure you get collateral worth more than the 7k.
