tigerstripeddogmd
30 cents profit total (10x3)
- 21 cents (to melt 9 of them)
- 7 more cents to melt that last penalty, if it is a flat rate.
2 cents profit.

Interesting how only one person actually took the raw materials into account. The profit is -3 1/3 cents.
fredrico_peterson
you will make two cents profit for every three pennies melted. Which means that on 9 pennies, you will have made six cents profit. The 10th penny costs 2.33 cents to melt, meaning you will make .66 cents profit on the 10th penny for a total of 6.66 cents...of course, this amount of money is satanic and should be avoided! :)

It costs 7 cents to melt 3 pennies. The pennies cost a total of 3 cents. Total cost for 3 melted pennies is therefore 10 cents. You sell them for 9 cents, you loose!

It would be 30 cents.

It is against the law to deface our money.
Millie
a nice jail sentence for defacing money or at least a nice hefty fine
flutterflie04
you will go in the whole since it costs more to melt them than what they are worth so just leave them as is.

pennies are made of zinc.......... they are not worth 3 cents melted......... it is illegal to destroy us currency......... I got 90 days in the hole for that once

The activity of destroying money is illegal, and therefore I refuse to encourage illegal activity
