If I am 23 what % of savings should be in the market?
I know there is a mix. I also have an IRA by the way but curious as what the experts recommend based on % of my money should be in the stock market.

Traditionally, 100 minus your age in stocks. Based on your investable liquid assets, and assuming you only have stocks and bonds. But people live longer now, so maybe 110-age is better. And if you have real estate and commodities and other types of investments, formula neds to be adjusted. Babies? Adjust it.

If you have six months of cash for emergencies and no plans to need this money for a house or a baby for the next five years, then IMHO you could go 100%.

At the moment, maybe 75% would be my opionion. Stocks are dirt cheap at the moment, so this is a fairly decent time to be nearly fully invested. One should always have some ready cash on hand though. You are still pretty young and you have many years ahead of you, so if you are really really aggressive now might even be a time to consider even just a tad more.

Part of ones money management system should include 10% of their money being set aside to create passive income part of which would be an IRA of course.

I lost $1,600 so far this month on the stock market. Sucks real bad for me!!!

Derek (Steelers, SB champs)
I think you should be very aggressive, between 80-90% of your money in equities.
