Wow tough question. The Mortgage on the house is less than that so paying it off would be nice but then very little would be left over. If you mean I can not work at all, it is a hard task indeed. Here is what I would do. Take 80,000 and invest it into a spider fund, some bonds and 5 CD's of varying lengths from a year to five years. I would take 20,000 and go back to school, maybe in the medical field, as an X-Ray Tec, or an RN. I would take a PRN or part time position 2 days a week so as to not go board and pay back the other 20,000 to myself. I would put all my salary into the 401k and quit 1 year to the day after being fully vested. I would then take another PRN position for spending cash and continue to live on the interest from the investment of the 80,000. And I would pay my house off.
Oh the heck with it. I would buy a small inexpensive house, sell mine and live on 15,000 a year for food and utilities. |

The only way to do this is to move to Mexico or Bali or some such place.
Having lived in Bali (we still own a villa there), I can tell you it is easy to rent a 2BR apt for 400/month. A Motorbike is about 1 grand to purchase. Groceries for 5 adults and our two kids came to ~200.00 a month. Less if you have no kids and nannies and other staff.
We never spend more than 400.00 a month there, gas, food, staff, dining out etc....obviously it will be more if you pay rent, but still under 1k a year.... |

Hmmm. A hundred grand isn't exactly like winning mega millions, is it? Assuming I had to attempt improving my lifestyle, I'd probably buy some rental real estate and try to parlay that into more real estate, and so on, until I had an income stream large enough to live on. Boy, would that take a long time! |

I would pay for my husband to go to School to become a pastor and lead people to Christ.He wants to do it but cannot afford the education,so I would give him the money so he could.Then I would use the rest of the money to build a church probably somewhere in Alaska and together we would teach people about Gods mercy and grace.We feel the need to do this because so many churches are teaching religion and legalism which we think leads people away from God and by leaving out religion and legalism people would be free to just be themselves as children of God. |
