guhmby2000 | If Warren Buffet never sells stocks, how does he buy food? |
I'm new to investing and I see stocks as a retirement vehicle that I will cash out when I retire. But until then, I cannot use that money to buy a cheeseburger. So how does Warren Buffet only buy stock, "never sell" or rarely sell, and still be able to buy food? |

OKAY ! OKAY ! You caught me...me and a couple of other guys stock his pantry and in return we get to live in Omaha. ( Great weather, no hurricanes, lotsa corn....)
Soooo..really, it's the dividends ( huge amounts) and a salary...and he does not have a "flashy" lifestyle. |

The Old Guy

He has other sources of income.
He does collect dividends, and interest from investments.
He does have salaries from serving on the board of directors of several corporations.
He receives monies from public speaking appointments.
He does sell trading/investing positions. Don't believe that he is totally la buy and hold investor.
Like all professional investors/traders, you never invest 100% of your investing capital at any one time.
He doesn't always have to buy his food, he's been known to "free load" off of others.
When you invest in your retirement, you shouldn't follow the buy and hold procedures literally, only a fool would do that. You still should follow good investment procedures and take profits when available. (even Warren did that), |

Warren Buffett receives a miserable payment as a CEO of a Fortune 500 Company, about US$100,000.00 but he is so frugal that it seems he can live with that, he also has a personal fortune outside Berkshire Hathaway's Equity he once realized that all his money was in Berkshire and started investing on a personal account so I suppose he got to have a few millions of personal stocks and cash.
And by the way Buffett does sells some stocks, not all of them but when He has to sell he do it except his beloved Coca-Cola and other companies. |

Because wen u buy shares, you receive dividends. Dividends are payments as a 'reward' for buying shares. u can receive them monthly or annually depending on the company |
