Depends on the country. SOme countries have an agreement with Britain and pensions are transmitted, others do not and you get nothing though you can apply to have it paid into a UK bank account but it will never rise with any increases made thereafter. |

If you move to another EU country, it's no problem. Just keep all your paperwork safe, that's all. Makes for an easy transfer. |

No problem within the EU. We are in France and they have been most helpful. They even bank the money into our French account having used a very favourable exchange rate. |

Yes, if you are within the EU.
We are in Spain and do not have a problem over pensions. You can either have it paid into your bank in England and make a transfer to your bank (Spain in my case) or have it paid directly into your foreign account from the Pensions Service in England. |

What is a 'very favourable exchange rate'? What really matters is whether you can get a better rate by keeping your money in a UK bank account and transferring it as a larger lump sum later through a currency transfer service.
I wouldn't put it past the UK government to get a nice little rake off from this, and the fact the information cannot be found on the DWP website or anywhere else means there's something a bit 'fishy' here. |
