If at the age of 27 i had 150k to spend, whats the best way to use it? I was considering an Aston Martin?
I was wondering if any of you knew of uncommon investments, the type people with less income dont know about that might be able to give me greater return than just 5%

To spend definitely an Aston Martin, nice choice! To invest I would research companies on the S&P 500 that are considered a dividend aristocrat (meaning they have raised the amount of dividend paid to the shareholder every year for the past 25 years or more) Pick a few of those companies and divide the money amongst your choice and enroll in those companies direct reinvestment programs. You can buy the stock directly from the company at a discounted rate, usually 5% and every year as dividends are paid more shares are automatically purchased, if you hold onto these for 20-25 years you could have easily a cool couple of million dollars in shares with these companies.

Best of Luck

Well you should take out $10,000 and trade options if you get 20% a month for 2 years you will have over 1 million dollars. I'm doing the same thing on my blog and so far I'm up 110% in 3 months visit

http://tradingaddiction.blogspot.com/

Up up to $21,031 in 3 months. Thats 110% in 3 months!!!!!! visit http://tradingaddiction.blogspot.com/

The purpose of this blog is to show the power of the financial markets, and in order to demonstrate this I'm going to turn $10,000 into $1,000,000 in 2 years or less using various financial instruments, but mostly options and stock. This formula should help show how this is going to be possible

Vn= 10,000(1 + .20)^26 Vn= 1,144,755

http://tradingaddiction.blogspot.com/

basically this means that if I can earn 20 percent each month in 26 months (2 years 2 months) I will have generated $1,144,755. So my goal each and every month is to generate at least a 20 percent gain.

I am somewhat of a hybrid investor but I rely mostly on technical analysis, and my favorite investment vehicle would be stock options.

I just read an article that said if you were age 26 and maxed out your 401k and an IRA contributions that year ($20500 total) invested in stock funds averaging a 10% return, with NO further contributions, you would have a million dollars by retirement. So if you get an Aston Martin for cheap, you can have both!

With $150,000 liquid cash, it shouldnt' be hard for you to get over 5%. There should be a broker or investment firm near you that can set you up with an investment strategy that will net you over 5%.

On the other hand, you can always buy the Aston Martin.

I would consider financial mutual funds. They sector has gotten battered for good reason with expsoure to the housing bubble. However, after the majority of subprime mortages get hemmoraghed off the balance sheets, expect the stocks to go back up. It really isn't a matter of if, but when.

If I had that money I would buy gold, a little silver, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yaun, Swiss Franc. The dollar is loosing its value right now. It will really loose value if you spend it all on a car.
