you may be "23 and luvin' it" but you're 23, irresponsible, dishonest, childish and an example of what our future has to offer. Grow up honey and get yourself together. |

It is your responsibility to maintain the money in the account for all checks written.
Around us, businesses and people that receive bounced checks can contact the District Attorney office. They will help with collection and force the person that wrote the bad check into attending finance classes as well as paying all the costs associated with collecting the costs and amount of the check.
Also, in California. You can sue in small claims court for up to 3 times the face value of the check. |

If you knowingly write a check without funds in the account you can be prosecuted. It is considered fraud.
It depends on the people who are owed the money as to whether they want to file a police report. You need to resolve this with the people to whom you owe money. |

If you do it too often your bank will cancel your account. You will get an NSF fee from your bank and from the business you wrote it out to.
You better call and explain why you won't have the money until next month, they may try to work with you. If you say nothing and make them work to get what you owe they will try to get you for everything they can.
I would. Pisses me off when debtors won't communicate with me. |

They can send it to the prosecuting attorney's office. I would talk to the people you wrote the check to and explain your situation. See if they will work with you.
Each bank has their own policies with NSF fees, you also need to contact your bank and let them know you have intentions to correct your account. Find out their policies and what other fees you should expect.
Some banks will charge a fee per day if your account stays negative for so long. Important question to ask when you speak to your bank. |

If you don't have the money in your account, you're not supposed to write the check. Don't you know that? |

The bank can continue to charge you a fee for "NSF" as many times as the person or business you lied to about having enough money to pay for whatever you bought with funds you did not have choses to!
Way to go!
Why would you want to make any progress in life? |
