There are a lot of great stocks on sale at the moment, but perhaps my two favorites are RIMM and YUM. I like these two at this point in time because I think that the stock market is going to bounce back big time next week, and these are two well known companies that buyers will be rushing back into. Plus they won't be quite as sensitve to any earnings disappointments. We're coming into earnings season and there will probably be a number of companies that will miss estimates big time, and give a gloomy outlook for Q4. YUM just reported a good Q3, and RIMM doesn't report until the middle of Dec. so there isn't a worry about a poor earnings report in the next few weeks from either of them. I'm not currently buying anything that has an earnings report coming in the next few weeks. It's just too risky. The last couple of weeks of Sept. were hard on a lot of companies. There are a lot of other companies on my buy list, but these two are my favorite.

If you are interested in investing in an Australian company then you should look at UXC. This is a company that would appeal to Warren Buffett. Its growth and profitability have increased over the past five years. It has been paying an increased dividend over the five years. It is trading at a price under six times earnings and its future growth prospects are attainable. This company's shares sold at $2.83 during the past 12 months and are currently at $0.745. The final dividend of 5.5 cents per share (payable in November) is available to purchasers of the shares at present and represents a return of 13.08 % pa dividend rate. The earlier preliminary dividend was 4.25 cents per share. If the company maintains this level of dividend payment for the next twelve months then any body buying the shares today wil receive three diviend payments over the next thirteen months of approximately 15.25 cents. This represents a return of 18.89% pa based on the share purchase price of $0.745. For Australian residents this is even better as the dividends are fully franked and represent a return of 26.99% pa.

Never invest money in the stock market that you cannot afford to lose. Further the stock market is not the place for people who do not make plans and who do not stick to their plans (modifying them intelligently when necessary). The reason for the dramatic fall in prices is that very many investors have been stressed and have sold in a panic.

none right now but when it bottoms out then go for blue chips stocks for a good gamble!(and it is gambling you know that don't you?).

Gold is your best bet right now right after plain old cash. Steer clear of new investments right now unless you don't mind losing it all.

90% of all stocks are tanking right now so the only stocks I would buy right now are the ones I plan to short sell.
