The currency that your country uses has no significance to where you can invest. If I want to invest in France I can do so no problem, I would just need to switch my £ to Euro.
Euro is currentley very strong and is out performing the £ on all of the major crosses in the FX markets.
I personally think it would be a good thing for the UK to get the Euro.
Euro is fast becoming the currency to have, Saudi's and Russians have switched a lot of their currency reserves from US$ to Euro. |

ceydebab above is correct in theory, you can invest in any currency you please. However in practice you would now have to buy euros, invest in a euro-denominated product, then when you sold you would have to sell your euros. So the currency transaction could wipe out a fair bit of your profits, assuming no exchange rate fluctuations. Hence investing in products which are denominated in currencies other than pounds can be a bit tricky now, but if Britain gets the euro Joe Bloggs investment world could open up quite a bit |

It is only a different name for money.
It does not matter one jot what they call it.
It would make no difference to me other than the fact that every time they mess about with the stuff, like decimalisation, I get poorer and the rich get richer. |
