If you gave $200 for a wedding gift in 1999, with inflation what should you give in 2007?

Justin
In the UK, it would make little difference. But make it $220 if that helps you to sleep.
$220 and a pack of Doritos even better.

hazeltine4
Under this administration??? That $200 gift is now about $350! That must be a nice gift! You want to come to my daughter's wedding in March??? LOL

Seriously, about $225 - $250

$100 - As it is costing me more to live - less to give.

a gift is a gift. I didn't think they were adjusted for inflation!!
.
Luckily, inflation has been extremely low in the past 8 years, so $200 is still a pretty nice wedding gift.

If you want to get technical, and say inflation was 4% over the last 8 years:

then 200(1.04)^8

= about $275 dollars!

Steve
There hasn't been too much inflation since 1999 except in gasoline and housing.

$50.00. Gas prices are higher and so is hotel fees, tux fees and dress fees.
