I would watch it for a few months.
No one knows what's to come, but signs are there for big fall at the moment.
Index futures Eg. DowJonesInd(Dec) are actually Negative for last two weeks compared to spot price. All major world indices are much lower than there intrinsic value. To me that means expectation of serious fall by big players. But does not mean it will happen, just sentiment is stock indexes are headed lower.
Indices drag most stocks with them. |

I like companies with great cash flows because when the market gets bad, they have the cash available to keep going strong and get through the bad time.
So my favorite with strong cash flows is AEO |

Index funds - try Vanguard or Fidelity
Index funds beat mutual funds hands down over time and they cost less. You don't need a financial planner to tell you that. They are just trying to sell you stuff so they can get a BMW. If you do go with a financial planner don't buy their products - only buy their advice - in other words go to a fee based planner not one who works on commission from sales (obvious conflict of interest). They should give you general information like pay off your mortgage or buy the car with cash, don't take out a loan, interest rates are high - do this to avoid paying too much tax, etc.. But if they start saying "I have a great mutual fund for you to invest in." Then they are getting a kick back. |
