I would payoff my house, take a few good vacations and ask my wife to stay home and have babies. |

I'd pay off my mortgage, and insulate my house!
Boy, that'd be nice...
The remainder - I'd consult an investment counselor, as I have no investment experience. |

1. Pay off all debt including car insurance for the year
2. Buy a sweet @ss car for myself
3. Buy a sweet @ss truck for husband
4. Buy lots and lots of new clothes for us and our baby
5. Spoil baby with lots of toys
6. Bank at least $75,000
7. Start college savings account for baby
8. Put the remainder on the house
9. Have no debt except remainder of mortgage and utilities
Wouldn't that be nice.
Why are you asking, thinking of making someones day, no wait, life?? I'll take a check! JK... |

Personally I would buy a house for a little under that amount. Not having a mortgage or rent payment would free up plenty of extra money to invest a little at a time all over the place, save for retirement, take vacations, save for a rainy day etc . . . .not to mention if I ever lost my job, I wouldn't have to worry about losing my house. |

I would pay off my house ( it would be wonderful to be mortgage free....I can't wait! ) then I would use the balance to buy ( or at least put a down payment on ) a rental property. Real estate is always a fairly safe investment. If you hold onto it long enough it will appreciate eventually even if the market's not great right now and the rental income will help pay off it's own mortgage....just gotta be careful of bad tenants. |
