I went to my bank and they want to work out a portfolio for me. All my cash is currently FDIC insured, I wanted to put most of it in a CD and maybe use 20-30k for investing in Funds.
That amount will forever be beyond my reach so I do not know.

I'd take half of it and set up a foundation to fund charitable causes. I would invest the rest in diversified investments of equity and fixed income through a trust. Trusts arent public like a Will. Then I would have most of my estate liquidated and distributed to worthy causes.
