If you only have that much& no income you had better keep the money in a plain saving acct.where you can get it fast without paying any fees.

I would look to economicinvest.com for help. If you use their guidance to make a good investment, then you can grow your money quickly and get into a good financial situation. Their picks are wonderful.

online bank only and get to work.

I would put it in a growth mutual if you don't need income. Really any income you would get off of a $3000 investment is going to be minimal anyway. Stick it in something like American Funds Capital World Growth & Income Fund. Great returns, good up and downside capture ratios.

I'd be thinking of a way to work for money again. No way I'd be looking to invest.

CD or money market fund. Don't risk it.

Right now, I'd look at a Gold ETF, like GLD. I would also use a sell discipline (i.e., sell if it drops 5%) so you're principle is protected.

I got that strategy from the resource. They had some more that sounded good, too.

Use the money on a new suit, hair cut, and job search.

Honeslty, I'd put the money in a high intrest savings account, Citibank I think is still offer 5%, that way you can make transfers to your checking account as you need money, 5 transfer per month is the limit. And then I'd get a job, because no realistic return on a $3000 investment will allow you to live very long.
