christopher c | Im in need of financial help, should my mum help as she i know has over 150k in her bank!!!!!!!!? |
I am 26 and left home at the age of 16 since then i have asked for financial from my mum on only two occasions this total was in the region of 1000 pounds . We agreed that i would repay what i could when i could before i could ask for any more financial help.
Over the last two ears due to the area i live in and the lack of jobs i have had little work i was also left with a financial whole from a broken relationship where my partner later i discovred had no controll over her spending. Im now lumbered with a bill for £151 council tax and i have just had a reminder. i have the next couple of days to sort out at least the outstanding installment arears of £62 aprox. With aprox £750 left to pay my mother how ever im in need of that £62 or it could face going to court and in these unsure financial times could even face imprisonment i believe for not paying it as non payment of council tax can be considered to be an offence.
Im feeling unsure what to do however like i said have not asked my mum for very much financial help in the past conidering living on my own in and out of 3 relationships over the last 10 years have only borrowed 1000 and a quater i have paid back. Should i ask my mum for help or brave the unsteady waters a head? I am now activley looking for work on job seekers allawence, however with the raise of everything in price jobseeker allownce has not gone up enough in comparison. what should i do?advice extremley welcomed.............. |

She has no moral obligation to help you. You are an adult, stick to your live and if she gives you a loan be grateful she doesnt charge interest. Its up to you to decide how you see your own morals and not repay her.
Council tax does not come as a surprise like an accident so you should seriously make a financial plan.
However you can ask her of course for another loan. Or a very generous christmas present in form of a cheque for the tax. |

She doesn't owe you anything.
You're a grown up, you can stand up for yourself. |

You are 26. You are no longer a child and can't expect Mummy to bail you out every time you get into trouble. What your mother chooses to do with her money is up to her. If she chooses to bail you out, that's fine, but you have no claim to her money and "should" doesn't come into it. |

Sort your OWN mess out ! Why should your mother bail you out just because she's got money in the bank !
Your mother shouldn't be lending you money at your age ! I left home when I was 17 - have worked ever since - and am SICK of propping up the unemployed by paying higher and higher taxes each year ! |

Just be glad you don't live in the U.S.... they don't give you the luxury to stay on unemployment for over 2 years.
You are 26 and an adult. If you allow your partner to go thru your money because she had a spending problem then you have only yourself to blame.
It is time to grow up. What will you do when your mother is no longer around and you have no body that can bail you out? |

You can ask your mother. She is not obligated to give/loan you money just because she has money, but she might want to help you. You need to form a plan so you can pull yourself out of your financial mess. Your mother did not manage to save all that money by being irresponsible with financial management. You need to get a job even if it pays much less than your previous job. |

old know all is right, you can't expect your mom to help bail you out as a grown up, but she might help in light of your situation - that what parents do. Rather than ask for a loan, you could ask for a few hundred pounds, as a gift perhaps.... |
