70% stocks, 30% bonds if you are under fifty 60%stocks, 40% bonds if you are 51 to 65. 60% bonds , 40% stocks if you are 66 or older.

asset allocation is a function of how much time you have before you need your money. It's not based on how the market is doing. If you keep changing ratios everytime the market moves, you'll find yourself going the wrong way.

For personal investments, you are your best adviser. Its your money and you know what are your expeditures in order to maintain a good standard of living and how much extra money you will have for investment in the stock market.
Take care of your well being first.

If you are below 40 you should be 100% invested in stocks with your retirement money. You still have a goo 25 years until retirement. This appears to be a good entrance point also even if you don't have that much time. If you are 50-55 go to about 85% stocks 15% bonds. 55-57 go to 75% stocks 25% bonds. 58-60 go 50% each and I would not go much below 50% exposure to stocks.

cash, unless you want to try to time the pops and drops or buy options

Dpends on how long you have until retirement. If you are young you should be almost all in stocks. As you invest now you are getting great bargains!!

All my 401(k) contributions are going into a diversified stock portfolio including domestc and international stock.

When it will turn does not matter - unless you are trying to time the market, which is a terrible idea.
