In your opinion what are the best books to learn investing?
i want to start investing i want some books to give me a head start what do you rec.

Landlord On The Side
For mutual fund stuff I really liked the book "The Automatic Millionaire" by David Bach. I got a free copy from American Century or another firm doing a promotion, so you might want to see one of those offers is still going.

I agree that any Buffet related things are good including the Berkshire Annual Reports.

Another book that came to mind is Random Walk Down Wallstreet.

A must, and very easy to read primer on all aspects of investing including the role of cash and bonds is "The Four Pillars of Investing, by Bernstein".

The Little Book of Common Sense Investing, by Bogle.

More advanced:
A Random Walk Down Wallstreet, by Malkiel
Fooled by Randomness, by Taleb

Indexing: Anything else by Boggle. Anything by Swedroe

Stocks: The Intelligent Investor by Graham; Stocks for the Long Run, Seigel

Bonds: The Bond Book, by Thau

If you just start with the Bernstein book you'll be better off than 80% of the people out there "investing".

I would get " The Richest Man in Babylon". There are alot of other good books written by Peter Lynch and by Warren BUffet. Get anything you can that is by Warren Buffet. There are also many good books for beginners. Go to a local library and they will have many books about investing.

I like "Rule #1" by Phil Town.

By being interested in gaining understanding before you sink in money shows you are smarter than most people who buy stock.

Below are two classics.

Good luck

Intelligent Investor: A Book of Practical Counsel by Benjamin Graham and Jason Zweig

A Random Walk Down Wall Street: The Time-Tested Strategy for Successful Investing by Burton G. Malkiel
