jonnyz15 | Investing $15000 today, can i make $1000 by next week? is it likely? |
is it unreasonable to think that if i invest $15000 into the stock market, in a stock that is say $3.00, and it raises to 3.25, this would amount to a $1250 profit. Is this just wishful thinking, or does this actually happen in the stock market |

anything is possible in the stock market...it could be for the good or in some cases for the bad
it's the roll of the dice... |

You certainly could make $1000. You could lose $1000.
I would advise most people to buy a general index fund. Maybe $10000 in a total market index, and $5000 in an overseas index. |

This sort of behavior is common in the stock market. For instance, I purchased Netflix at $26.75 eight days ago and it is at $32.68 right now. But nothing is going to stop it from a big sell-out and dipping under $26 in a few more days.
You are taking a big risk in trying to win big; I recommend taking that money and investing it into some more long-term. |

or you could go to the casino and put 1000 dollars on red. You won't have to risk your whole 15000 dollars. A 3 dollar stock can turn into a 1.80 stock over the matter of a week. or day for that matter. The stock market ain't nothin to F with. |

Stocks go up by that much and more all the time, every week. The tough part is trying to figure out which one is destined to do that this week!!! It is not easy or else we all could do it like clock work and be very rich... My advice is to check out sites like Yahoo Finance and The Motley Fool, and learn more about picking stocks correctly... |

Hello,
I also had a similair problem as you have.
I had a good amount of money, and wanted it to grow.
So I looked around on the internet to find something that is:
1) giving me great returns towards a relatively small risk
2) Professional people who know what they where doing with my money.
I'm glad to say I finally found a moneymanager who is capable of giving me good returns and give me a great support.
On this blog you can follow up all the results that he is making:
http://my-robottrader.blogspot.com/...
My money is working for me, in a little over two months I already have a ROI of 58%.
So you don't hear me complaining!
Annyway if you would like to get in touch with my moneymanager to have some more information feel free to contact me you can send an email to me at derrekmay at gmail.com.
Then I'll give you the email adress of my moneymanager
Hope this has helped you! |

well, you'll have sales commissions buying and selling ($100's each time) and the stock could just as well go down $1.00 per share- there are no guarantees of profits when investing |

If your goal is to make real quick money, your best bet is to invest it in the futures market. Look into the E-mini futures. It is in my opinion a much better option to invest in than say the stock market. For starters, you can trade as much as you want and all of your gains are taxed at 40% long term gains, 60% short term gains, so you save a lot on taxes. Secondly, you can go long or short with ease so if you want to hedge against the declining market, you can short a futures contract. The other beautiful thing is, I know of a place that will let you trade one e-mini futures contract for as little as $600. I personally have turned $1000 into $5000 in one month. |

Yes, that can happen if you have a volatile stock. But stocks are very unpredictable. The stock could also go from $3.00 down to 2.75 just as easily.
Most wise investors spread their risk out over many stocks, to lessen the risk of losing money. They average ~10% a year, with many up years and some down years.
You'd probably do better buying index mutual funds. |

Wait another month and buy Visa. You'll make well over $1000 from your initial investment. Look for a stock that is pulling back and is ranked as a 'strong buy'. |
