What is the best investment with the economy turn around?

Hi, Toni,

Has the economy turned around? I hope so, but that's something people could debate.

Your question is too broad. There's no such thing as a "best" investment, in any economy.

You have to figure out what you want. Do you want to invest for retirement? Save money for a house downpayment? A lot of financial advisors will also ask you about your level of risk tolerance -- if you say you're willing to accept a lot of risk in return for a greater long term reward, many people say yes, then chicken out when the sky seems to be falling.

Anyway, I'm always going to say that the best investment is a range of income-producing investments.

But your time horizon is important.

If you want to invest for a goal within five years (a house, a vacation, a wedding etc), then you should just put your money into a money market account. Your principal is protected and you'll get interest.

If you're after medium term goals, consider Treasury bonds too.

If for retirement, you want a broad range of dividend-paying stocks and Treasury Inflation Protection Securities (TIPS). And you want to put them in a tax-deferred retirement account first.

These are my generic recommendations no matter what the current economy is, because it will go up and down in your lifetime, I promise.

best, Rick Stooker

Stay away from stocks. Just go with C D 's for the time being.

No one knows. They can guess, but no one knows what will happen with any stock. Period.

Have you tried foreign exchange trading? Typically, when an economy is either improving, or turning sour, it reflects in the currency exchange rate.

I wish you the best! http://jsforex.blogspot.com
