The only thing you can do is with your parents permission is open a savings account or a CD
You must be 18 to open a brokerage account and with little amount of money you could not buy any stocks

For such a small amount of money, look into CD's or an EFT to mimic the S&P 500. General Rules:
1) Stay away from penny stocks. Those are a fools gamble and NO ONE gets rich off of them. You literally have better odds winning the lotto. Trust me, you are not going to pick the next Apple.
2) Stay out of individual stocks until yu have enough money to have a diversified portfolio AND enough in each position to not be eaten alive by trading fees. At a minimum that is 7 stocks AND $10,000 invested.
3) Do not chase past returns. Just because something went up 50% the last 3 months does not mean it will continue to to that....mostly just the opposite happens
4) Buy low, sell high. Sounds simple but many many people panic and sell their stocks AFTER the market hits a low. A low point is when you should be BUYING, not selling.

You'll be surprised how many books are available at your local library. Once you find one, you'll find a whole row.
Also surprising, is how good the book "Investing for Dummies" is.
