If you live in the US, you won't be able to cash out. Banks can't accept dinar or transfer it for you since we are at war with Iraq and it's considered a terrorist state. |

SCAM
You should better choose high yielding CD at 7-8% with guaranteed fixed interest. RISK FREE investment. |

Highly speculative. Investing in currency generally is. Investing in the Iraqi Dinar is pretty risky too. The area is way too unstable to expect its economy to grow enough to cause its currency to gain value. Now, you would probably be able to buy a lot of currency with little money. That is the one saving grace. If you had some money that you did not mind losing then give it a shot. However, if you lost this money would you care? Would it hurt your finances? If you say yes to either of these then I would say to not do it.
Also, beware of scams. Make sure you are getting the money at an appropriate rate and that you will be able to exchange it back easily enough. Be aware of exchange fees. Those can eat profits made in currency exchanges. |

It's not a scam if you are a professional currency trader. But a currency trader would not buy from a retail outlet like you would. The mark up would be too high for them.
The "dinar" story is very attractive. It's too scary to call speculative. There's a 99.5% chance your throwing your money away. |

A county's currency is valuable for buying exports from that country. If demand for exports is expected to increase, then demand for dinars will increase. Iraq doesn't export much besides oil, for which they expect to be paid in dollars. |

Any investment can be a scam if you invest with a crook. You should only invest in currencies if you have some logical reason to expect them to rise or (if selling short, fall). |
