With the economic crisis looming, stocks are low, but there's also a big risk, right? |

There are risks that the market could go lower, but there always are. All of the news that has been announced has been priced into the market, and much that is anticipated has also been priced in to a certain degree. There are certain sectors that present some great potential, as they have been beaten down well below their fair value. Of course, it depends on your time horizon. For a horizon of 6 months or less, now is a fairly risky time to invest, as it is possible the markets could trend lower. However, for a longer investment horizon, now could be a great time to begin to establish long-term positions, as many companies are trading below their fair value, and this problem will be resolved as the economy improves, leading to the potential for some very significant gains. Strategically investing during a time like this is a great way to build wealth in the long run. This can be done through developing an investment strategy, which should include dollar-cost averaging, as it will allow you to establish a great cost basis for the long-run. You can also hedge positions through derivatives, which is basically a method of insuring your holdings from losses by paying for an insurance premium, which could be options or other derivatives. Just some thoughts, I hope they helped.
Best of luck!

it really depends on the stock. If its a good company with good fundamentals than buy, buy, buy. But please do your research on the company and on the sector its in. Compare it against its peers in the same sector and look at the stocks overall history.

If you invest long-term and dollar cost average, you will not be overly concerned with the rise or fall of the stock market.
Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account. If you do this, and you have extra cash, then one of the best things you can do is open a DRIP Plan.
Go to : low-cost-stock-recommendations
.com
Click on the "DRIP's" Button on the Navigation Bar
These powerful investment plans are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.
They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down. They are a must for any serious investor.
If you decide you are interested in DRIP Plans, click on the advertisement on the same page "$4 to purchase stocks". This will answer your next question, which is, How do I get started? and what is the least expensive way to get started?
I strongly recommend looking into it. They are great plans.
Good Luckcerned with the rise and fall of the stock market. |

Agreed, but the best time to buy was right when the FED announced the 75 basis point cut in Fed Funds as the market opened down over 400 points and reached 11,508. Moreover, the S&P fell to 1270. That was an unbelievable deal assuming the FED doesn't recant their rate cut. That would be disastrous. |

Yes, it is a bad time to buy stocks.
Better put your money in Belarusian bank. You will get a 13% rate of interest with NO RISK AT ALL because all deposits are state insured.
Put $10,000 and get back $18,424 in 5 years (compound interest). No fees.

No, the Federal Reserve will lower the prime rate in about a week. This will help the market. It may go lower but not by much and not for a prolonged period of time. |
