Millhouse | Is it a good Idea investing in Ford with their stock at $1.61 a share? |
I was thinking of invest in like 4k in Ford Motor company stock , figuring it cant get much lower , besides 3 year ago it was $10 a share. So if it gets back up to $10 a share I will cash in giving me a little more than 20k which I would gladly put towards a new Ford truck , whenever that might be. |

I would say in a bear market economy like today, I would diversify as much as possible. If this was a good economy and the government was helping our auto industry, then I would go more risky. Because this is such a bear market, I think it is stupid to buy the auto makers stock. The economy usually rebounds big after deep recessions like this. The biggest rebound ever was after the market rebounded after the great depression. |

There is no reason whatsoever to buy Ford stock right now. Even if the bailout is directed towards them further, the aid they receive is still short of the debt that Ford has. Unless there is some major reform with unions, they will continue crippling the auto giants. They pay an average of $76 an hour to UAW workers for manual labor! |

To hell withem. Invest in clean energy. Solar paneling is about to be whats in. We need to make it whats in. I think we should rise up and demand that we not bail them out unless they start making cars that don't use gas. They have the technology, you can't tell me that we can put a man on the moon but you can't make me the car from back to the future? If we are going to spend billions on the car industry why not make that change now. But we the people who are supposed to control this country don't seem to exercise our power enough.
Other than that it is a bad risk investment idea, i won't say that it won't get you paid because who knows what will happen, but just watch and wait. |

you have to play it by ear, they are looking for a bailout right now, if you can afford to lose the money your investing, go for it. if they get the bailout, you will be good.
