You don't need successful traders to tell you, you need a lot of skill, and a bit of luck. Only a handful of day traders out of 100 actually make money, so I'd be careful with any monies I'd use, and remember only use finances that if lost won't affect your financial health. It's like playing the slots, you only hear about the ones who won, not the hundreds upon thousands who lost. |

Thank goodness you didn't ask about becoming a successful, profitable day trader. That's much tougher, and much less likely. |

a good book to read is The Disciplined Trader. If you are going to become an At-home Day Trader, I suggest you invest in some chart analysis software, typically ranges $2000 or so. Open up your e-trade or ameritrade or forex account, fund it, and you are set. However, if you are going to be executing multiple trades within a day (hence, day trader) then you really need some sort of charting software... unless you can read candlesticks. |

the stock market is the greatest place on earth, but not the easiest place. buying and selling and making money on a regular basis is difficult. you can practice by going to top10traders.com they give you 100k of fake money to invest and you can see just how good you are without losing any of your own money. there is unlimited money to be made by investing if you are any good at it. but it is hard and you will probably lose more than you will make |

If you're going to be trading shares in the same company repeatedly during a week, then you're a pattern day trader, and you need to keep your account funded with at least $25,000.
Be careful with your margin account. Do not risk money you can't afford to lose. |
