No, you are confused. There is currently a bill in congress asking for thr 10% bracket to be dropped for taxpayers to help stimulate the economy. IF this passes and IF you were paying taxes last year with enough income to maximize the 10% tax bracket (meaning you entered the 15% bracket), and IF the bill passes with no changes, THEN you may receive an $800 check per person in perhaps June or July.
This is being done because of the very slow economy. The market has been way off because of the slow economy, not the other way around.
