Is it true that this is best time to be in the stock market?
Do to its volatilty doesn't make sense to get in now? why the stocks are fluctuating as long as a stop is in place??? let me know please!
Additional Details
I haven't gotten one remotely close answer to what I was looking for....I don't want long term stocks, I want cash flow! the reason buffet is in cuz he knows he will not lose money since he is a long term investor and he knows the worst that will happen is the stock will return to its origonal strike price and he has no need for cash....Im not that fortunate!

That depends on your strategy, the time frame for your strategy, and your tolerance for risk. The market is up dramatically from its November lows. Have we hit bottom? Will we revisit the bottom? Will we go

Now is a great time to get into the stock market. You want to try to buy when the prices are low, and right now the prices are very low, so now is a great time to get into the stock market. They might not go up immediately, but over the long term investing now is a very wise decision.

lepetitdejouner
Actually I heard the opposite is true. I don't know if now is a good time because the economy is going down the toilet. Wait a little bit....then hopefully it will go back up again. I guess it is a good time because stocks are so low, but it's risky.

Now is a great time to buy for the long term no question about that. Why do you think Warren Buffet the richest man in the world is basically going all in, in the stock market.

SugarBethMiddleton
If you're willing to stick with your portfolio of shares for 5+ years, yes by all means go in.

muncie birder
Well, it is a better time than it was. Whether it is the best time only time will tell. There is some concern, and rightfully so, that the economy might be headed for a long term period of no growth. (I am trying to be generous with my description of the situation.) There is also concern that all of these government free spending programs are going to put paid to the value of the dollar. That might not be all bad depending on your point of view. If so companies that export will do well.

Most answers have some merit. The market hasn't reached its bottom, but if you are in it for the longer term, there's no need to try and get in at the lowest price.

What is important that the companies whose stocks you invest in survive at all, so choose them carefully.

The stock market is not the place to look for cashflow, unless you want it to be negative. You have a better chance with forex, using one of the new autopilots.
