It's a good time to have money in a 401k, because it's pretty no risk in the first place, and it can appreciate a lot since your pretty young. And your buying pretty cheap at this point, even if it seems like your putting a lot of cash in from you check, so it makes it even better. |

No one really knows. There is an old saying "Someone sells stock because they think the price is going down, Someone else buys that stock from the seller because they think it is going up".
It is a form of gambling, a few small investors hit it big, most get hurt.
Big investors buy or sell enough shares at one time to drive the price up or drop the price. They make money. |

Omg, NO. Leave all your money in savings. Only seasoned investors will make any money in this market. Please do not. |

It's really a gamble. Alot of people are saying no, but I actually think so. If you think about it, stocks will go up, as we are getting a new president who can fix it, and who will as our business world is in crisis, or you will be making slightly more than what you have payed for. Overall, I would say yes.
Hope I helped |

Buy low - sell high !!
But it is your money, only you should decide when. |

You should invest in stocks if they will give you the type of return (size as well as risk) as you're looking for.
Before you invest, ask yourself:
How much do I want to make?
When do I want it?
What risks am I willing to take?
What return do I need to get me to take that risk?
If you want to buy stocks, now is better than yesterday, but it may be better or worse than tomorrow. It really depends on which stocks you're interested in. Like Intel? Now is a great time. Like GM? I'd wait to see whether the promised bailout is coming - if not, the price could plummet.
Some would say invest in gold or real estate because they have "real" value. The problem with these is that you have to put a lot more money into them in order to make any sort of real investment. Moreover, you have to pay taxes on real estate whether you derive any income from it or not. You also have to pay maintenance fees on gold, or store it in your basement (and deal with poorer prices at the metals dealers than on the digital markets).
Your long-term strategy should be one of diversification - buy real estate, but not at the expense of stocks or savings. |

Now would be a good time to study companies and find the ones you think are good to buy...and at what price...then buy as they hit that price. |

It is never a good idea to jump in with both feet. You could buy a little and see how it goes (provided you can take the pain) before buying more. The market is very though right now but it will eventually recover, we just don't know when. |

At this moment, no one can tell, because if the companies go bankrupt, your stocks will be worthless. On the other side if they recover to how they were, you'll make money. It's a risk |

Wait a week and buy some planes (if you have enough money behind you).
There are going to be many losers in the current turmoil and a few that actually win.
I'd invest in Ryanair if I had any money. |

Well I have recently purchased a few stocks that were at 2 to 5 year lows, then the market went a lot further down this week. I have cash on the sideline so I've been looking at blue chips that are really down. Things like GE, MMM. |

it is far more like gambling than usual right now, and usually it is a gamble! If you can afford to throw your money away then it is worth having a go if nothing else someone buying might encourage others to do so (sometimes the big guys go in with big dollars go in and buy up big just to inject some confidence without real hope of making money, but thats not working right now). |

No, now is a good time to buy real estate, lots of it, that's what I'm doing, eventually when the market balances back, I'll have much more than before. |
