J | Is the stock market about to take a tumble? |
Given the current forclosure rates, decrease in housing, increase in cost of living and decrease in consumer confidence is there going to be "price adjusting" in the stock market as we have seen in the real estate market? |

National incomes are somewhat stable and people are still spending as can be seen with the profits of big cooperations. I'm concerned that much of the spending we were seeing last year was due to many people enjoying the equity of their homes as they sold or remortgaged.
The forclosure rates are concerning because those people will be looking for rental locals driving up the rental market and the everyday cost of living will continue to increase. This may lead to a demand for increase incomes and continue to pressure the inflationary trends.
As rates rise prices fall. There will be a fall in the stock market as the entire economy responds the the real estate 'adjustment', kind of like a ripple affect.

Not necessarily. I don't know much about the stock market in paticular, but just because someone doesn't own a house does not mean they will stop purchasing goods and services.
Think about it. |

Yes. The amount of illegal labor is hurting us. And the war is exhausting recourses in other countries. Mail cant fly over several countries and the U.S. is beginning to get crowded.
Believe.

I don't think that it will tumble very far this year. I don't think it will rise very much either. The housing market is slowing in some states but it is still going strong in several others. I think consumer spending will match last years spending. Oil prices, who knows how high those will clime this summer. |

I think we are going to have a correction of at least 10%.
I would put only 50% of my money on equity.
I would rather put it in emerging market EEM.
It's high but it's better than US Equity.
I would wait, but still have some invested in equity.
It's not guarantee.
Leave your money in HSBC Direct and get 6% APY now for a few months.
At least you are geting a positive return. |
