depends on where you live. $47,390 is alot of money in a rural area where the cost of living is low and things don't cost all that much. $70,000 would be an average or below average if you lived in Los Angeles, California. Just depends on where you live and how many expenses you would have where you live.

I think it depends on where you live and the lifestyle you are accustomed to. In am in NC a town of 75,000. I would think $47,000 is good for a woman here and average for a man. I would think $70,000 is a good income for either - especially if this is a 2-income home.

$47,390 is not a lot! It's an okay income! Most of my friends' income are from $75,000 to $120,000!

Average income in my county is $27,000. So 47k is a lot for my town. I pay $435/month rent so 47k in those terms is a lot of money in terms of cost of living in my county.
