Yes, you have to explain the terrorist reference because it's stupid.
If your friend doesn't like his compensation and is that valuable why doesn't he/she pack his/her bags and take all that money-making potential to another bank? How about a little bit more info on what he does to "bring literally millions into his company". Is he a loan officer? If so, and if he's got a good book of business, he could take it to any other bank. Is he a security guard who literally carries cash into the bank? Then it's about $10 per hour. |

a bonus is part of benefits, just like health benefits, salary. i have seen many people disappointed around bonus time, whether they get $500 or $50,000! The determination of bonuses is very often arbitrary, though often (as in the firm where I work) based on how well the company is doing (if the results are not great, why should a company go in debt to pay bonuses) and how well the employee is doing in the team.
Trying to renegotiate benefits (including bonus) while employed is seldom successful. So make your requests up-front and negotiate until you feel you have a fair package. They can always say no, and you can walk away from the offer.
The bottom line: a bonus is a bonus, like winning a poker game. but it should not make you feel unappreciated. |

Pft... most places don't offer bonuses, regardless of how much the company brings in and what part you played in earning it.
He should be happy to get a bonus at all.
Now if they're sending the "rest" of his bonus to Al Qaida, then we've got problems lmao.
Seriously though, that works out to $2800 a year in bonus checks.....not bad. |
