Money has value, relative to time. Because you can invest money and get a return, such as interest on it. If you invest it you can get a return over time. If you dont invest it you lose money over time, through inflation, and opportunity cost.

Thor
There is also the "time value" of money. That means the longer time for which you "loan" money, which includes investing, the more return you expect and vice-versa.

no, draw a box and put a plus sign through it. Now on one side place an I and below that place a money sign. Now on the other side place a T and below that place a S.
I represents investment
$ represents money
T represents time
S represents self.
To make money you end up trading one or more of these four things. You can use money to make money, Invest to make money, trade yourself for money, and spend the time to make money.
hope this helps

" Time is Money " only when there is an endeavor which will earn money. If one is expending no effort to accumulate money time is not of the essence. If you are in the law and are expending time, you will have billable hours which represent time expended. There time is money. Beach time is not money time. It is leisure time which is necessary to revitalize the system.

No but for time you can get money and for money you can get time (IE Investments and labour).

Alec

NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT! That is a sometimes "close" to true, but mostly a misused myth.

Example: If I say, "when I am working" my time is worth money! The question needing to be asked, is "is all of my time worth money"
WORTH MONEY TO WHOM?? If I am laying the beach, I may have passed on earning a bunch of $$, in favor of the beach.

Ultimately we get back to the "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder type thing"! You may think her beautiful, I may think her a zero! Who's correct? Is she beautiful or not? It is the same with cash(money) You may view all your time as being worth $$. I may disagree, who is right????

In my world, if I am doing consulting, it is paying me X $$ per hour, but NOt all the time, I may be doing it pro bono! If I am swimming and not being paid anything, I don't view it as a loss! To me that time is not = to money!

No. They are not the same.

Time: you cannot get it back once it is spent.

Money on the other hand can be spent and earned back
