Isnt gasoline cheap at $3 per gallon?
figure it out -- if one barrel of crude oil @ $72 yields 20 gallons of gasoline? thats only $60 a barrel! that means the oil cos would be losing money. gas should be well over $5

A barrel of crude oil is much more valuable than just yielding 20 gallons of gasoline. They use the oil for other things like petroleum gas, natural gas, heating oil, motor oil, etc.

Add all that profit together, and we're getting raped at the pumps. We're getting raped everywhere.

THINKMAAN
Yes, it is cheap. Only if you live London.

Joe
A barrel of oil is approximately 42 gallons. It yields roughly 24 gallons of gasoline, but it also yields a lot of other stuff that is sold as well. See this link:

if one believes this information. One would say it is cheap. fact is 10.03 gallons of Diesel fuel, 4.07 gal. of jet fuel, 19.65 gallons of gasoline, now add up the pump prices for those gallons of various fuels @ $3.00 per gallon and that equals $101.25 Now don't forget the other 11.05 gallons of additional petroleum products produced from this single barrel of crude oil which amounts to another $80.00 in retail revenue. So you are being ripped off by the oil companies. How do i know this, 30 years of work for the oil industry.
