No Silly! They don't mean ACTUAL tree branches. It just means a small office that is part of a large organization with many small offices and one large 'home' office. It's like a tree, where the trunk is the home office and the branches are the small offices. Does that help? |

I guess it symbolize GROWTH which makes sense.
If you look at a tree function threw out the seasons and the years; banks actions are similar!!! leaves grow and fall off and the cycle repeats it's self over and over again sounds like the functions of economic influenced companies such as banks.
this joke made me aware of similarities.
