My financial advisor was very rude?
Hi, I have a financial advisor with UBS. He is one of those kinds who is lazy, unqualified and is not willing to go extra mile to help me. When I ask him a question, he says he will get back to me the next day, but never does. He never answered any of my e-mails. In the beginning he was very interested in me as his potential client, because he wanted to get a commission. But right now he behaves like he doesn't even care about me. Today I called him and was asking simple questions about my account and whether it was RMA or Basic Investment one. At one point he got angry with my detailed questions and asked me, "Why is it such an issue for you? What is the purpose of your questions?" Before I explained why, he said, "I no longer want to be your financial advisor. You don't understand anything in the investment world." His harsh words were a personal insult to me. I already spoke with a manager, but it looks like managers will never go against their employees and they will always be on their side. Is there any way I can take it to higher authorities? I am very fried right now and I know I don't deserve such treatment from UBS after investing thousands of dollars there. Any advise?

Try to locate the number for their corporate headquarters and/or president's office. Call them up and tell them exactly why you are closing your account to see what they have to say.

Good luck.

Move your account. If you were important to UBS, you would have gotten satisfaction.

Move your money. And let them know why.

What I am about to write does not apply to all financial advisors because some are great people. However there are bad apples.
That is crazy for anyone to treat you like that. I would imagine the advisor has lost his clients a ton of money due to the recent market conditions and has probaby had clients telling him he is worthless and doesn't know anything about investing because he lost so much money. This being said he is probably on the defensive side since his company sucks and responsible for people losing buku dollars from there retirement accounts. This is a prime example of what advisor do. They play nice and want your business and once you invest the money they get the commision, after that they get trailing earnings but thats usually not a lot. So once you pay them the commision and they realize you invested all you could they treat you like **** since no more commisions will get paid. They figure since they have your money the worst thing that can happen is you move your money elsewhere and then they have nothing to worry about. I would take your money to a company where people don't work on commsion like Fidelity, Vanguard, etc

Call him back and say, "No, YOU dont know anything about the investment world. Thats why your stock price has dropped 75% and your company has lost about 28 billion dollars cause you cant even answer simple questions. If every investment advisor at UBS is like you, then now i know exactly why you are losing money, and as soon as UBS goes out of business, you will be out of a job and aint nobody gonna hire you when they find out you worked at UBS!" Then start laughing and hang up.

Unless your account has six figures or more, you will not get satisfaction. Just take your business elsewhere
