You want a stock selling at a discount? Consider ACH. Why? Basic industry serving China. China growith 5x faster than the U S. Need lots of infastructure. Has the money to buy it. Anything is possible with AAPL. Jobs is amazing. He is what Gates wishes he were.

Your first option should be to fund fully a retirement account. This is always a prudent investment.

If you have done this, or you wish to wait on the retirement fund, then one of the best things you can do is open a DRIP Plan.

They are seldom talked about because brokers make very little money when they suggest them. Yet, they have proven to be one of the best, if not the best, long-term strategy on Wall Street.

The best part is you get solid annual returns from well-known, safe Blue Chip companies like: McDonalds, General Electric, Pfizer, Walmart, US Bancorp.......etc........

They are inexpensive to start and maintain, and your dividends are reinvested for free.

They are perfect for small investors, as well as big investors. They are safe and allow you to not care about whether the market is going up or down.

The fact you are getting started at such a young age gives you more options. You do not have to be aggressive. Just let compound interest, dollar cost averaging and dividend reinvestment take control.

A stock is a company. So buy a good company that you think will be doing better 5, 10 and 15 years down the road. I see oil and gas because of peak oil and stronger demand from (B,R,I,C) Brazil Russia, India and China. Encana comes to mind for Oil and Gas. If apple was $300 a share it would be valued close to what microsoft is worth(market cap) so you be the judge. Do you think 5 years from now Apple Inc will and should be worth more or equal to Microsoft?

You don't have enough money to invest in widely diversified stocks. You should start out with a mutual fund that fits your risk appetite. As for a specific sector, I like oil & gas as the world is running out of both and in the long term the prices and the profits of those firms should go up. However if Hillary or Obama get elected, they have both promised to tax the **** out of oil companies, so you may not want to rush in just yet. The T.
