Intellectual Property Rights are gaining quite a bit of momentum.
To answer you simply,
anyone here (outside of one) can act like a lawyer
(which they are not)
and you would be a fool (which you would not want to be)
to take anyone's advice who is not (a lawyer)
when your monetary gain will be possibly thwarted
by your bad move (that being taking advice from someone who is not a lawyer)
I would suggest,
talking to a patent attorney.
If your idea is worth the weight you are putting on it here,
It is time to invest a small portion (the attorneys fee)
to see if this is worth pursuing.
You do NOT want to answer that silly advertisement you see on television which begins like this:
"Do YOU have an idea that may be worth money?"
"Do YOU want to protect yourself?"
IF THEY AIN'T LEGIT, DON'T RISK IT!
See a real attorney, and I am one guy who is hoping this idea of yours is a great one that makes you alot of cash
and benefits me in my dealings with banks.
Take care.
Be Smart.
Talk to an attorney. |

Why can't you have a patten? That is the only way to ensure that your inventions will be protected. Couldn't you go to a certified person (I cannot think of what they are called), who will legally sign a statement of verification that this is your project? Can't you have a few friends keep copies of blueprints or whatever evidence you have that this exist. Be sure to have dated and witnessed. Good luci |

I believe that what your looking for would be some type of "NON-Disclosure/Confidentiality Agreement". Not exact words but similiar to:
"Bank/laywer/person/whoever agrees that all information submitted by the inventor to us in regard to his idea and/or invention including but not limited to printed material, drawings, pictures, invention title, trademark, logo, discussions or written communications, electronic or non electronic, will be held in the strictest confidence."
ABC Co. also agrees not to enter into any contract, agreement or discussions with any third party, affiliates, or anyone outside th company without the prior written approval of the inventor.
Furthermore ABC Co. also agrees not to make any alterations or modify either directly or indirectly any information provided to ABCX Co from the inventor, for our benefit or that of any persons, corporation, firm or entity.
Call an Attorney or three who specialize in patents and they could direct you further. |

Depending on your friendship circle you could hustle to implement the idea on a smaller scale so as to get patent rights for the work you have done and then move on to tackle the big guns, you could also ask a lawyer for advice (intellectual property law) and see how well you can protect yourself, though in your business plan you could talk to a lawyer and insert a restraint of trade clause for a period of a month after viewing your idea or 1-6months making the restraint of trade too long would make it dismissable in court try make it fair 1 - 6 months (a restraint of trade is a clause limiting whoever who views your idea from implementing it themselves unless you are involved) |

Suggestions
read about pateneting. patents are dependent on geography. in US the person who comes up with idea first is granted the patent. which in europe the person to file it first the the patent holder. moreover patent filing and maintaince charges are a lot. only if the patent seems viable enough think about filing it.
cheers
