go to www.moneycontrol.com and read all about Mutual Funds. They give ratings to different mutual fund companies and , as per me, they are quite reliable

hi,
you stated your salary is only 8000/-.
What is your age?
if your age is above 45, then go for ICICI prudential or relainace mutual fund scheemes, in SIP mode.
IF you are under 45, then go for ULIP.
ulips are Unit Linked Insurance policy.
Ulips are Mutual fund with a life coverage.
Ulips are the best investment tools with guarenteed risk benifit.
but choose one with minimal allocation and other charges. in ULIP - Bajaj s Capital gain is the best one, with a minimal allocation charges (5%) and best performance in past years.

contact me at
devaraj0910@ yahoo.com
for the files which directs how to select the Ulips and ulips advandage over MF.

be care ful in your investments in shares and Mf since you are having a minimal monthly salary. for personal guidance contact me

Hi! I am sunil from Delhi, the first quetion to ask before starting investment is what do you want to achieve by this exercise. Say for example you decide to generate a return of 20% per annum. now there are many schemes where you can get this kind of return, but a consistant return of 20% per annum is slightly difficult job. Here again you have to plan how long you an keep you money invested.
Currently Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund has launched an open ended scheme with the name of FRANKLIN INDIA HIGH GROWTH COMPANIES FUND, which seems to be a good start for you go ahead with a SIP of Rs. 2000 for as long as you can but at least for 10 years and see your investment growing.
A ppt is available at my group site kindly visit for more insight.

You can start a SIP (Monthly Rs.1000) in any of the good Mutual funds. I can suggest,

Reliance Mutual Fund
SBI Mutual Fund
Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund

chennaideva
Considering your salary, better to start with SIP in mutual fund (hight risk high return) and a PPF account (low risk, medium return)
