The best way to learn is to go to CNBC's website & sign up for their Million Dollar Stock Market contest. It's completely free & fun plus there are awesome weekly gifts along w/ the big monetary prizes i.e. tickets to the Superbowl, Tag Heuer watches, a guaranteed seat in the World Series of Poker...I am so hooked on this game & it's definitely taught me a lot about market trading (you can even practice currency trading). It began May 9th, so you probably wouldn't win but its still a lot of fun to play & the weekly prizes are somewhat obtainable. Just do it. |

1. Learn about the best free resources on the internet.
2. Start by learning what makes stocks go up and down.
3. Learn basic chart reading (so you can see them go up and down).
4. Start with a virtual trading platform so you can learn how orders are set up, placed and managed. By this time you will have a few stocks that you want to paper trade.
5. Go to Meetup.com and look for investing groups. Investor's Business Daily sponsors ibd.meetup.com sites all over the country.
6. You will need to pay for some training/coaching to help establish good practices and experience. They won't be cheap. Evaluate them very carefully.
7. If your uncle is Warren Buffett, get him. Seriously if someone in your family or close circle is a financial professional, seek their advice and coaching.
8. Educate, educate, educate yourself.
