You should first understand the various asset classes available for investing. All of them will have different risk & returns. In current scenario it will be good to start with debt/gilt mutual funds and slowly investing in equities as markets bottom out - expected around January 2009. Ignore short term tips and never invest by borrowing funds.

This is an area that is fraught with danger. There are many sharks on the internet looking to take your money from you and run away. My advice is be careful and investigate properly before you throw your money at anything to invest in.

The best thing you can invest in is yourself. I am being privately coached by an online millionaire and it may be well worth your while to see if you would also like to be coached by this person - it could be the best investment you have ever made. See the source box for the link.

I hope this helps you.

Me too, I could do with an easy fortune haha

Read "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham. Everything Warren Buffett does is in that book. Literally. That's right - Buffett does and has done nothing more than what's in the book. Hint - it's not complicated, it's just that most don't have the temperament for it.

Oh, and you can read my site too, I'll have more investing stuff up shortly.

Go see an Independent Financial Adviser, trust me it'll be worth it!

EDIT: You can't say don't invest in shares in the current scenario it depends on what risk you want to take - shares are down just now if you're high risk you can buy them now so you make a profit when the market comes back up - only really invest in shares if you're willing to put your money away for long-term though
